Angel Simeonov, a 28-year-old man of Roma origin, was shot dead early in the evening of 26 March by an unidentified person. The shooting occurred while the man was illegally cutting wood in a forest just outside Samokov. Angel Simeonov was shot in the region of the leg; the bullet ruptured a vital artery. He was taken to hospital, but died a couple of hours later of acute blood loss. Investigators have performed a search of the scene of the shooting. It
is likely that Simeonov was shot from a distance of 100-150 m, probably
with a rifle. For the time being no more information is being released
about the shooting and the suspected perpetrator. |
