Wire tapping to be carried out with court order |

Telephones are to be wire tapped only with a court order, provides the adopted Telecommunications Act. The act's provisions stipulate that operators will supply information from telephone calls, both in real time and recorded, if they are requested for national security considerations. This will happen however only under the provisions of the Special Surveillance Means Act. Information from the wire tapping will be given to the a specialised unit at the Ministry of the Interior. |
