Drug dealer dies of heart attack in Svilengard detention facility

A Turkish national died in the investigation detention facility in the city of Svilengrad. According to information of the Justice Ministry 53-year-old Mikhun Karachim died of a heart attack on July 8. The man was arrested one week before he died for drug possession and was charged with drug dealing. His police detention was prolonged from 24 to 72 hours by the prosecutor's office, and afterwards the court in Svilengrad judging that there was enough evidence against Karachim ordered a permanent detention measure. According to information from the media, the day that he died Karachim had a meeting with his attorney. During the meeting he reportedly felt sick and his attorney called the guards. The doctors that arrived on the scene of the incident established that the man had died of a heart attack. The Regional Prosecutor's Office in Haskovo is investigating the case. |
