10-year-old child jumps off third floor in social institution

Ten-year-old Monica Ivanova died after reportedly jumping off the third floor of the Nikola Vaptzarov special school in the town of Elhovo. The girl's body was found in front of the school early in the morning of 22 June by a teacher.

The school personnel claims that two days before the incident, Monica had been brought back to the school by her father who could no longer take care of her. The institution director says that the girl suffered from a severe form of schizophrenia.

The girl died from injury to the head and brain. The incident in the school is being investigated. The testimony given by a key witness is contradictory.
