The article of our colleague Antoaneta Nenkova "The Bulgarian Island of Leros is Sanadinovo" won a special prize at the Panitsa Journalistic Awards. The eight annual ceremony was held on 21 May 2002 in Sofia.

The article, which described the situation in the Sanadinovo home for mentally retarded women, was published in October 2001 in the Capital weekly.

Antoaneta Nenkova works at the Bulgarian Helsinki Committee as coordinator of a project focused on the situation in the state homes for children with mental and physical disabilities.
