A joint task force will be formed to deal with the problems of the Social Home for Mentally Retarded Women in Sanadinovo with experts from the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy and the Ministry of Healthcare. This was agreed between the EU Chief Negotiator Meglena Kuneva, the Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Policy Hristina Hristova, the Minister of Healthcare Bozhidar Finkov, and the Deputy Minister of Healthcare Petar Tenchev. Experts from the two ministries, including psychiatrists, will visit Sanadinovo in the period between 7-15 May 2002. During their visit they will re-diagnose the clients and send those with severe mental illnesses for active treatment. After considering the moving of the home to a more appropriate building within the structure of the MLSP, the preparations for the closing of the Sanadinovo home and moving the clients to a more suitable environment will start. Three different variants in other locations are being considered at present. The final date for the moving of the home will be in the beginning of the autumn/winter season. |
