Masked men attack owner of Radio Montana

Pavel Nikolov, owner of Radio Montana, was beaten by several masked men in the city center on Tuesday evening, police and media reports revealed today. The men who attacked him beat him with metal pipes.

Mr Nikolov was released from hospital after a short stay there.

Last Friday, five days before the attack, Pavel Nikolov alerted the police that he was receiving death threats - over the telephone, and in person from a man who claimed that he had been paid to kill Nikolov. According to police reports, the attack was aimed at intimidating the journalist famous for his critical broadcasts. >24 Chassa, Duma
