SOFIA, 21 August 2001 - The Noshten Trud daily reports that a five-year-old homeless child was beaten by skinheads in central Sofia this morning.

According to the newspaper, a group of seven skinheads severely beat and nearly tore off the right hand of a homeless girl at about 4 a.m. on Sofia's Maria Louisa Blvd. The five-year-old victim had cuddled on the pavement to get some sleap when the skinheads attacked. They started kicking her on the head and the entire body, breaking her right arm above the wrist. The child managed to escape and seek help from about a dozen other homeless children.
